The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

1. About the Journal
The University of Khartoum Engineering Journal (UoKEJ) is a peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing knowledge across all branches of engineering. We welcome high-quality submissions that:
Present original theoretical or experimental contributions.
Propose innovative methodologies with broad applicability.
Offer interdisciplinary solutions to regional or global engineering challenges.
Regular Papers (4,000–6,000 words) Comprehensive original research articles with detailed methodology and in-depth analysis.
Technical Notes (≤1,500 words) Short communications presenting emerging techniques, innovative tools, or early research results.
Review Articles (By invitation only) Critical and comprehensive reviews of specific engineering research areas.
Perspectives (Invitation-only) Expert insights highlighting forward-looking views and future research directions.
3. Ethical and Publishing Policies
Authorship
Contributor roles must follow the CRediT taxonomy.
The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors approve the final manuscript.
Originality and Plagiarism
All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using CrossCheck.
Simultaneous submission to other journals is strictly prohibited.
Use of AI Tools
Permitted uses include:
Language editing (grammar, syntax).
Reference formatting.
Translation assistance.
Prohibited uses include:
Generating substantial content.
Data interpretation or analysis.
Literature reviews without human verification.
Declaration Requirement:
Authors must include the following statement if AI tools were used:
“During manuscript preparation, the authors used [Tool Name] for [specific purpose]. All AI-generated content was reviewed and verified, and the authors accept full responsibility for the published work.”
Conflict of Interest
All financial, institutional, and personal conflicts must be disclosed upon submission.
4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Structure
Title Page (Submitted as a separate file):
Manuscript title (maximum 15 words).
Author names with affiliations using superscripts.
Email address of the corresponding author.
Main Document:
Structured abstract (maximum 250 words).
5–6 relevant keywords.
Introduction (clearly stating the research gap).
Methods (detailed and reproducible).
Results and Discussion (presented in separate sections).
Conclusion (highlighting implications and societal relevance).
Supplementary Material (optional):
Datasets, extended methods, or multimedia content.
Formatting Requirements
Layout:
A4 paper, two-column format (except abstract).
Margins: 20 mm (top/bottom), 17 mm (sides).
Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single line spacing.
Equations:
Use MathType or Equation Editor.
Number equations consecutively.
Figures and Tables:
Minimum resolution: 300 DPI.
Accepted formats: EPS, PDF, TIFF.
Ensure fonts are embedded for vector graphics.
